So far this year, my focus has been on taking advantage of opportunities to pause and love God’s people. My days are so busy that I rarely stop to be kind.
Then I thought, “maybe I am not alone in this”.
For Valentine’s day, I wanted to give people an opportunity to love those who may go unloved throughout the year. During this community wide project, residents within my skilled nursing facility received tons of valentines. I was astonished by all of the people in the state of Louisiana who reached out to send scripture, candy, and encouraging handwritten messages.
Every single resident received a valentine and felt honored and treasured – even if it was sent by a complete stranger.
The outcome was satisfying for all who participated and boosted morale within the nursing home community.
I hope this encourages you to minister where God has you planted. Be a light. Love one another. Please share your ideas in the comments!
